Our approach

Why We Blend Documentary, Editorial, and Classic Wedding Photography

Documentary wedding photography

The feeling

We love documentary wedding photography because it allows couples to fully enjoy their wedding day without constant interruption. This natural, unobtrusive approach helps us capture real emotions, genuine moments, and the true personality of each couple, rather than a polished or staged version of reality. By focusing on honest storytelling, documentary wedding photography creates timeless images that let you relive your wedding day over and over again, exactly as it felt.

Used during: getting ready, first look, part of the portraits, ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception

Editorial wedding photography

The Looks

We love editorial wedding photography because it brings an elevated, artistic touch to the parts of the day that benefit from a bit more guidance, especially portraits and bridal party photos. Once the real story is captured naturally, editorial direction helps us create refined, intentional images that feel timeless, flattering, and full of presence. It gives you those beautiful, polished photographs where you look and feel amazing, while still staying true to who you are.

Classic wedding photography

The memory

We also value classic wedding photography because family photos are one of the most meaningful parts of a wedding gallery. These are the images that often live on for generations, the ones that get printed, framed, shared with relatives, and cherished long after the wedding day. A strong classic approach, paired with clean, studio-inspired lighting, helps make sure everyone looks their best with clear faces, flattering light, and a timeless feel, so you have elegant family portraits that will always matter.

Our vision

Why We Photograph Weddings on Film and Digital

Film Wedding Photography

We love film wedding photography for the way it captures light, color, and emotion with so much depth and beauty. Film has a softness and honesty that feels timeless, romantic, and impossible to fully replicate. It turns ordinary moments into something more atmospheric and artful, while still preserving the real feeling of the day. For us, film adds soul to a wedding gallery, it feels nostalgic, refined, and deeply alive.

Digital wedding photography

We love digital wedding photography for its flexibility, precision, and ability to capture every part of the wedding day with clarity and intention. Digital allows us to work quickly, adapt to changing light, and preserve fleeting moments exactly as they unfold. It gives us the freedom to document everything from fast-moving emotions to dark reception spaces with consistency and care. For us, digital photography brings balance to a wedding gallery, it feels dynamic, and deeply reliable.

Frequently asked questions

What is the "Tati and Roman" photography style?

We specialize in an editorial and documentary aesthetic often described as an "Archive of Feeling." We blend high-fashion composition with raw, candid storytelling to ensure your wedding photos feel like a timeless piece of art rather than a standard gallery.

Do you work as a team?

Always. While we are a husband-and-wife photography duo, we operate as a unified creative studio. We always work together on the vision, editing, and curation of every single project, ensuring the "Archive of Feeling" aesthetic remains consistent even if we are in different locations. For larger celebrations, we utilize our exclusive pool of trusted, Tati and Roman-trained second shooters. This allows us to provide comprehensive coverage while maintaining the high-end, editorial standard our clients expect from us.

Are you based in New York City?

Yes! We are Brooklyn-based wedding photographers, but we serve the entire NYC tri-state area, including Manhattan, Queens, and the Hamptons. We are also available for destination weddings worldwide, with a particular love for the Dolomites and the Italian Alps.

Do you shoot on film or digital?

We are hybrid wedding photographers, utilizing state-of-the-art digital cameras for precision alongside the timeless soul of 35mm and medium format film. While our primary coverage is digital to ensure speed and security, we can add film photography to any collection upon request. This allows us to capture those specific "French chic" moments with the authentic grain and texture that only true film can provide.
